Contract Work

HPWA offers contract services that include a diversity of projects related to watershed health related public education and assessment and monitoring of watersheds. Our contract services include performing ecological monitoring and assessment to private and public entities with a current focus on river/stream condition studies, wildlife surveys and wildlife habitat assessments, and forest ecosystem related assessments and monitoring.  We are also available to offer educational programs related to many aspects of watershed health.

Past contract work done by HPWA includes:

  • Wildlife surveys and monitoring related to the Collaborative Forest Restoration Program for NM Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute and various private land management organizations.
  • Threatened and endangered species surveys for USFS.
  • Public educational programs for Las Vegas City Schools, River Source and the Wind River Ranch.

Our contract services help to provide basic operational funding for HPWA and an opportunity for volunteers to be involved with scientific studies in the field.  HPWA has professional staff available to fulfill contract obligations.  Volunteers are used in a supportive capacity to professional staff, giving them field opportunities for fun and training.
